"Ty has more "fish sense" than any other guide with whom I have had the pleasure of fishing. He seem uncanny in his sense of when to fish one way, and when another will work better. Whatever the source of his magic, he puts his clients onto more fish than any other Kenai River guide I have used. Ty does what it takes to get fish for his customers.
And besides that, he is a genuinely nice guy to be around. I consider him one of the best guides I know. I regard him as a friend, and an all-around great guy."

I had an opportunity to fish with Ty on my first King Salmon trip on the Kenai River. I landed a 55 pound King within our first hour on the River. As the summer went by I observed Ty on occassions with many clients fishing for King Salmon, Rainbows, and Silvers. Ty is a very knowledgable guide for all Kenai River fish.
Ty is very easy to talk to, and makes your trip everything it should be by using excellent tackle, good baits, and reading the "bite." He understands what it takes to catch fish and works extremely hard for his clients. I believe "patience" is a quality that Ty displays while working the river. His easy going manner and southern charm makes for a pleasurable fishing experience. I plan to fish with him on my return to the Kenai, and would certainly recommend him for any fishing trips on the Kenai. -- Bill McKinley, Conyers, Georgia, August, 2005
My trip with Ty on the Kenai River was a very positive and memorable experience. Ty has a knowledge of the River and all of it nuances that is incredible. His success rate for Kings with his clients is extremely high. He has a keen sense of everything that is going on on the River within the range of his vision. I will make every effort to time my next trip to Alaska to coincide with Ty's availability. -- Mike Richardson, Roswell, Georgia, August, 2005
I met Ty of Ty's Guide Service this summer and I have to say that I haven't been
disappointed with the results. Not only does Ty find the fish, they usually
are the big ones. I went out on a charter for the first time with Ty's Guide
Service in late May this year and caught the biggest Kenai River King Salmon
I have ever caught in my life. The thrill that you get when fighting a 42
pound Salmon cannot be explained by words alone--you really need to be there
for yourself. I encourage anyone that is up for the adventure.
I have since been back on the water with Ty's Guide Service many more times
fishing for all species of fish the Kenai River is home to. If given the
chance I would jump at the opportunity to be on that river with a pole in my
hand and on Ty's boat.
I've been on a few of the many charters that operate on the Kenai River and
I have to say Ty's Guide Service is definitely a step above the competition.
I can say that if you're ever given the chance to come to the fine state of
Alaska and find yourself on the Kenai Peninsula you really should find the
time to go on a fishing charter with Ty's Guide Service. You will not go
home without having a good time. Not only will Ty try his hardest to get
the fish, his dedication and love for what he does is definitely noticed.
